This calendar is a celebration of Black-owned restaurants in Richmond, VA. All of the proceeds go toward a local initiative called RVA Community Fridges: a group of  people who're fighting food inequality in Richmond by giving healthy food away for free.

The pandemic has been hard on everyone in different ways. The restaurant industry is just one sector that has been hit extremely hard, and Black-owned restaurants have been disproportionately affected. In December, my team and I came together in search of a small way we could bring more attention to the Black-owned restaurants in our city. We landed on a calendar the features a different entrepreneur on each month. People look at their calendars every day, meaning that every day, they are reminded of someone who needs their support during this time. If we encouraged even a few more people to eat Black-owned, we succeeded.
